It's that time of year! Macy's is holding their annual campaign with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, a great non profit organization that grants wishes to children with life threatening illnesses. To support this great foundation, Macy's will donate $1 for each letter to Santa a child writes. You can drop off your letter to any Macy's store or submit one online by clicking the picture above. Help Macy's reach 1 million dollars in donation.

Word Work
We've been working really hard in computer class. First Graders have typed their way through Level 1 and even some Level 2 stages in Dance Mat. We know the Home Row keys and most of the Top Row by now. Let's practice the keys we learned so far by making beautiful word clouds. Click the picture above to get started.
How many words can you make from these letters?
ASDFGHJKL AND WERTYUIO.
Good luck!

Tech Tip
This week we learned our first "tech tip"...all about the sound controls.
We learned not only about special keys to adjust the sound levels on our laptops, but that there is more than one way to do the same thing on a device. Can you find the speaker buttons on your device? Can you find another way to turn the sound up or down, using the "System Volume"? Make sure you remember next week when we test our tech tip knowledge!

We've only been back for about three weeks but it didn't take long to pick up right where we left off. It was great seeing that many of you kept up your touch typing techniques and are getting better and better at typing with all your fingers. We reintroduced ourselves to some of our favorite typing websites and also explored some new ones. Don't forget the "key" is practice, practice, practice!!!
Go under the "Typing" tab to practice on your favorite typing website. Remember, going on at home is strongly encouraged!

Tech Talk
I can't believe this school year is almost over! We accomplished so much in keyboarding this year! It's hard to believe that when we first started we barely knew where the letters were and now we are speedy typers.
Feel free to share your favorite parts of computer class as well as any suggestions you have for me to include for next year. Just click "Comments" below-Don't forget, you should not post your first and last name. Feel free to leave your initials or first name only. Have a wonderful summer and keep typing!

Silly Sentence Time!
Sometimes acronyms can help us remember things we want to learn but just can't seem to always grasp when we need it. We talked in class about some acronym sentences that can help us remember the home row, top row, and bottom row. Post your sentence below! Here's one I came up with for the home row........
