Californiaaaa Here we Come!
I can't believe that at this time last year me and my girlfriends were sitting on a sunny beach in San Diego, California. From there, me and my friends ventured to the Hollywood sign (which was not easy to get to being that we had to drive up a mountain for that picture), to Rodeo Drive, sandy dunes, and then off to star search in L.A. It was an amazing experience. But I would have to say one of the greatest highlights of my trip was our visit to world famous the San Diego Zoo. It took some convincing since my best friend is not what you would call an "animal person" but we got there and boy was it worth it! When I got home, I was eager to share my experiences with my students and what better way than a VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP. After a little searching online I found the San Diego Zoo for Kids website had amazing virtual experiences for students. With all this cold weather lately (thanks New Jersey) I could not think of a better time to reminisce and take a visit-this time digitally. My first graders enjoyed it so much I had to share it with everyone. Go ahead and click on the link below.
Check out all their live animal cameras. You can see right inside the different animals exhibits including the tiger, panda, elephant, polar bear, and more and this very moment. And best part, no need for sunblock.
